9/2/10 Hey guys, Now that the storm has passed we are back in action. Before this week we had been bottom fishing for seabass with very good results. We have had catches as high as 91 keepers last week. We will now be running 8 hour bottom fishing trips for seabass, blackfish, and porgies. Chris 8/20/10 We headed down the beach today and I decided to try some blackfishing. We put the crabs in the water and those fish were there and hungry as we quickly boated our one a man limit. The guys played catch and release for a while and then we switched over to fluke. We had a bunch of shorts but managed to get 3 keepers. After the tide slacked we tried some more bottomfishing to find that the seabass bite was pretty slow. We did however box a bunch of nice porgy's before we headed home. Pretty good day overall. The day started off a little slow but we finally got on em and were able to put 39 very nice keepers in the box and 1 big porgy. It was a great day of fishing with a great crew. We had Larry Valdez and the crew out the other day. We ended up with 22 keeper seabass and 7 ling while bottomfishing, and when we switched over to fluking we weeded through what seemed like an endless amount of shorts for 5 nice keepers to what looked like 5 pounds (i didn't have a scale). Chris 7/30/10 We had a great crew today for our open boat seabass/fluke trip. We bounced around to a few diffrent areas and with less than perfect conditions, and weeding through plenty of shorts we were able to put a good catch together of 27 seabass, 5 fluke, and 1 porgy. Anchored up on the first drop and had them comin right away. We picked away at some very nice keepers up to 4 pounds along with some porgies. and a couple caught and released blackfish. Switched over to try to chum some blues. Didn't have as much action with that but ended up with 1 big gator!! Congrats to Jenna for her first big bluefish on her first ocean fishing trip. Started out a little further from the dock and never had to move, with 2 or 3 on at a time the crew put 60 keeper seabass up to 4 pounds in the box! It was non stop action all day with big seabass, a fluke, and a few ling to round out the catch. Couldn't of asked for better fishing, better weather, or a better crew. Couldn't get them flying in any one spot so we bounced around from piece to piece. After 5 drops we ended up with 43 keeper seabass, 3 cod, 6 ling, 3 porgies, and 1 keeper fluke. 6/28/10 We had my buddy Tony on the boat today for some seabass fishing. We headed down the beach and loaded up on the bunker with one throw of the net. Moved a little further south to anchor up and had the first fish right away which tipped the scale at 35 pounds. After that the bite never got going so we made a move and picked another fish a little over 20 pounds, but again just the one. Put 6 keeper bass in the box and more bluefish than you could shake a stick at. For the afternoon trip we headed out to a different area to try some jigging. Found some of the best fishing I have seen yet this year with our limit in the box in an hour, and then catching and releasing some really nice fish. We even got to catch and release a very nice striped bass that wasn’t weighed but had to be in the upper 30 pound class!!! We had a great day and we will be back out tomorrow. Chris Devereaux 732-567-3289 11/29-We had perfect weather today for the Ron Stroz charter from Colts Neck. We went blackfishing first and caught 20 keepers and a ton of shorts. I switched over to jigging and the guys caught and released more bluefish than you can shake a stick at. I will be running open boat blackfish trips for the whole month of December, and there are still some weekday and weekend dates available. 11/23-Another great day of blackfishing for the Richard Yu charter, we caught our limit of 36 keepers by 9:30! We had fish up to 8 pounds and a ton of shorts mixed in. We then continued to catch and release keepers and shorts for the rest of the day. There are still a few dates available in December for blackfish and striped bass, give me a call to book your trip. 732-567-3289 11/22-We braved sub arctic conditions today with the crew from Duhnam Construction. It was all worth it though; as soon as the anchor came tight we had the blackfish flying. We had our limit of fish in less than two hours and plenty of shorts as well. We are back out tomorrow and I can't wait, I wouldn't mind if it was a little warmer though.
